how I came to write Good Fairy, Bad Fairy
For a period of time, I was separated from my youngest daughter. We could no longer live together. It was to do with my life situation which is described in my prose writing at the beginning of the Poetry Collection Windows.
She was at a Sixth Form College. Although I had been forced to live a long way from our home town, I still had some part time work around the areas where she went to college, and temporarily lived.
So we met regularly.
But somehow I always managed to be late, which is not like me, and she was always there. On time, and first.
One day, as I rushed along, I thought, “At least I will be there first at that final meeting. I will be in Heaven first.”
And then I thought – supposing the mother is not. Not there first.
And that was the beginning of my story.
